Recently Stage System, a company that provides settings and construction in general, coordination and production of events located in Milan, has set up an Alusfera system with 15.5mx11mx8.5m (h) dimensions in the park of the eighteenth-century Villa Serra in Genoa.
The half dome, which will host many important events, has an approximate diameter of 16.5 m with a 2m tunnel-shape frontal extension covering the stage. All the trusses used are LITEC LIBERA FL52; the ridge of the arch has been designed with a special multi-way corner to receive all the trusses that radiate off. The roofing sheet guides are integrated directly into the upper truss chord through a sliding guide with a dedicated profile. The system was tied up to the stage in multidirectional scaffolding with suitable anchoring plates.
Alusfera is another way of using Libera, again starting from standard components with the addition of a few special accessories. The horizontal roof of one configuration may become a quarter sphere in another to accommodate a whole stage, with the performance of a “real” stage, including large applied loads, large roofed areas, and very small transport volumes. It is a very impressive structure that may be used purely as part of the scenery, even without roofing sheets.
